Bude is situated on the North coast of Cornwall, the beaches have fine sand, and beautiful scenery, ideal for surfing, long walks and family holidays. Bude has one of only two working sea locks in the country, there are interesting walks along the canal and cycling. We have several golf courses nearby for the enthusiasts. One of the main annual events is Bude Jazz week which is at the end of August.
Stratton is a historic market town which is mentioned in the doomsday book. It has two excellent public houses with good food and is only five minutes' walk away. Stratton is set in a picturesque rural area, with the site of the battle of Stamford hill (which is re-enacted each year in May. Stratton is 1-1.5 miles from Bude within walking distance.
